Nick, a veteran of four decades in regional development roles, has a rich history with Shannon Development Company. His extensive career includes serving as the Regional Coordinator for the National Agri-Tourism Programme in the Shannon Region in the '90s. Over 20 years, Nick worked on rural and community project development in Clare and Limerick, supporting the establishment andgrowth of enterprises, tourism projects, and community groups.

In his post-retirement years, Nick continued to make an impact. He served as a National Tidy Towns Adjudicator, Best Kept Northern Ireland Adjudicator and a board member of Active Retirement Ireland.

Nick occasionally advises community groups across Ireland. Nick holds professional qualifications, including an Open University Certificate in Financial Management and a Higher National Diploma in Business Counselling from Durham University.

Beyond his professional work, Nick actively participated in local community activities, such as his involvement with Wolfe Tones GAA, community radio, and Shannon Active Retirement. Throughout his extensive travels in Ireland, Nick has connected with people from diverse backgrounds, which inspired his memoir in words and photographs.
